West Suburban Celebrates American Heart Month and Black History Month in February

WSMC Feb Events

Dr. Carolyn Fitzpatrick, Chief Medical Officer of West Suburban Medical Center, anchored a pair of community events earlier in the year. In February, WSMC hosted “Pink Goes Red,” an event held to increase heart health awareness. Dr. Fitzpatrick joined Dr. Brenda Taylor, DMD of Love Dental, to discuss how healthy lifestyle choices and dental health can protect the heart, which was followed by a fitness activity, live cooking, and a smoothie demonstration. Later in the month, Dr. Fitzpatrick was featured on a panel entitled “Health is Social: Building Health Equity in our Community” during an event held in honor of Black History Month at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Oak Park.
